The series of "European Nanomanipulation Workshops" was initiated in 2010 with previous workshops in Cascais (Portugal), Tartu (Estonia), Madrid (Spain), Kraków (Poland), Mulhouse (France) and Giessen (Germany).
Now, we are very happy to announce that the 7th edition of this highly successful series of scientific meetings will be held in Çe?me, Turkey, between the dates of September 21-23, 2016.
This year, the workshop will combine two separate working groups of the COST Action MP1303 titled “Understanding and Controlling Nano and Mesoscale Friction”:
• WG2: Tuning Nanofriction
• WG4: Controlled Nano Movements
The workshop will focus mainly on:
• Control of nano-scale friction via physical, chemical and mechanical means
• Strategies, methods and theoretical considerations of manipulating nano-sized materials, surfaces, particles and molecules
We are expecting about 50 participants, which would result in an ideal academic atmosphere suitable for lively discussions and personal exchange of ideas.
The conference venue (Il?ca Ho) is a beautiful 5-star seaside resort in Çe?me, Turkey with outstanding facilities and food. Çe?me is easily reachable from ?zmir International Airport via shuttle buses and the airport itself is very well connected with all parts of Europe.
More information on invited speakers, abstract submission, registration, etc. will be provided on the website in the coming days.
